| Dr.
Steven J. Smith and the staff of Parkwest Plastic Surgery began
providing quality care to Knoxville and the surrounding East
Tennessee area in 1993. Since that time, they have been an integral
part of the plastic surgery community. An understanding of the
need for both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery has contributed
to Dr. Smith and the staff providing the very best care possible.
Consequently, a high level of patient satisfaction is an important
factor in Parkwest Plastic Surgery's success.
Continuing
education for staff members is a priority at Parkwest Plastic
Surgery. Memberships are maintained in the Association of
Plastic Surgery Assistants and the Plastic Surgery Administrative
Association.
Attendance
at educational programs offered by these societies and other
plastic surgery professional organizations keeps the staff
abreast of the latest plastic surgery techniques and important
issues in caring for the plastic surgery patient.
The decision
to have cosmetic surgery is a very personal one and each person
considering cosmetic surgery is unique. Dr. Smith and the
staff of Parkwest Plastic Surgery strive to provide a personal
and individualized approach to cosmetic surgery. Just as each
person is different so is the individual's desired outcome
of cosmetic surgery.
Important
to the individual experience is communication. This includes
discussing and understanding the patient's desired results
and planning treatment options which may include new methods
of cosmetic enhancement.
The communication
process begins on the initial visit and continues through
the post-operative period with both Dr. Smith and the staff
talking with the individual about how cosmetic surgery procedures
are performed; the recovery period; and the expected results.
Close
contact is maintained prior to and after the procedure to
ensure that all questions are answered thoroughly and any
concerns are addressed.
